Ventilation Systems & Climate Engineering
Airflow design is one of the most critical determinants of production performance in poultry facilities. AGRIONIS engineers ventilation systems based on measurable airflow dynamics, pressure control and thermal load requirements — specific to each production type and building configuration.
Our ventilation process begins with airflow demand calculation per bird based on live weight progression, stocking density and climatic region data. Static pressure targets, fan performance curves and inlet aperture geometry are evaluated to ensure uniform air distribution without creating dead zones or excessive turbulence.
Energy efficiency, motor load stability and control automation precision are critical decision parameters. We evaluate fan blade design, housing corrosion resistance, control panel integration and emergency backup protocols to guarantee operational continuity during peak temperature stress periods.
Ventilation Configurations by Production Type
Each production system requires a specific ventilation approach based on bird type, stocking density, house geometry and seasonal climate conditions. AGRIONIS designs and specifies ventilation solutions tailored to operational requirements.
Layer & Aviary Houses
Multi-tier aviary and cage systems require precise airflow management at each level. We design cross-ventilation and tunnel configurations that maintain uniform temperature and air quality across all tiers, preventing heat stratification and ammonia accumulation in high-density environments.
Broiler Houses
Broiler production demands dynamic ventilation that adjusts to rapidly changing heat loads as birds grow. We engineer tunnel ventilation systems with minimum ventilation protocols for cold weather, transitional ventilation for mid-season and full tunnel mode for peak summer conditions — all integrated into a single automated climate programme.
Breeder & Hatchery Facilities
Breeder houses require controlled air distribution that supports fertility performance and nest hygiene. Hatchery ventilation demands precise humidity control and CO₂ management. We specify systems that meet the strict environmental requirements of both reproductive performance and embryo development.
Principal Partner: DACS
AGRIONIS works with DACS — a Danish engineering company and global leader in energy-efficient livestock ventilation. DACS products are engineered for minimal energy consumption, maximum airflow efficiency and long-term operational reliability.
Their permanent magnet motor technology delivers significant energy savings compared to conventional induction motor fans — with lower maintenance requirements and precise speed control that integrates directly with automated climate management systems.
DACS products are selected for projects where energy performance, operational durability and climate precision are non-negotiable requirements.
MagFan 57″
High-capacity wall fan with permanent magnet motor. Delivers maximum airflow with industry-leading energy efficiency for tunnel ventilation in large poultry houses.
MagFan Mini
Compact permanent magnet fan for minimum ventilation and targeted airflow. Ideal for brooding zones, transition ventilation and smaller house configurations.
CoronaD Inlet
Ceiling-mounted air inlet designed for cross ventilation. Provides controlled air distribution across the full house width with adjustable flap geometry.
CoronaS Inlet
Side wall inlet for precise air entry control. Engineered for uniform airspeed and direction management in both minimum and transitional ventilation modes.

Advanced climate management system integrating temperature, humidity, CO₂ and ammonia sensors. Controls all ventilation, heating and cooling equipment from a single interface.
HE740 Chimney Fan
Roof-mounted exhaust fan for minimum ventilation in cold climate conditions. Ensures continuous fresh air exchange without cold air drafts at bird level.
Technical Evaluation Criteria
Motor Efficiency & Power Load
Fan motor efficiency, power factor and speed control precision are evaluated against operational hours and energy cost projections. Permanent magnet motors are prioritised for high-run-time applic
Corrosion & Environmental Resistanc
All ventilation components are assessed for resistance to ammonia, dust, high humidity and temperature cycling. Housing material, blade coating and motor enclosure rating are verified prior to specification.
Climate Controller Integration
Fan and inlet systems must integrate seamlessly with climate controllers. We verify communication protocols, sensor compatibility and alarm response logic before system commissioning.
Uniformity & Dead Zone Prevention
Inlet placement, fan positioning and house geometry are modelled to ensure uniform air velocity at bird level. Dead zones and hot spots are identified and eliminated in the design phase.
Backup & Failsafe Systems
Emergency ventilation triggers, power backup integration and alarm escalation protocols are designed to protect bird welfare during equipment failure or power interruption events.
